Gelato and Pizza Day Out

One thing I love to do is go into town and have a day out. I dress up a little bit more, spend a little more time perfecting my hair and makeup and meet up with a friend.

My friend and I decided before hand that we wanted to browse what Smith&Cauheys had in the way of designer labels (after Christmas was not a good time in my opinion, the styles were lacking). They did have a good selection from Miss Selfridge, but I was sadly on a tight budget. We also decided that we wanted to enjoy lunch at Elliot Stables, Italian cuisine being our pick.

Elliot Stables is one of my favourite places to go in town. It's an awesome place where there's several restaurants inside an old stable. You can choose to sit in the restaurant seating or out in the middle of the stable and your food will be brought out to you. I think that this is a great idea because it means if you are with a partner or a group, if everyone wants something different, they can just sit in the middle tables and have their picks brought out to them. That way, no arguing over where to eat.

My friend and I were really excited to enjoy our pizzas, and they certainly didn't disappoint. I picked a Hawaiian pizza because I was in the mood for some juicy pineapple.

I was happy that our pizzas didn't take too long to be brought out, we did go at a relatively quiet time, but the service was quick which was fantastic. The pizza itself tasted beautiful. The dough was light and not too thick so it wasn't all pizza base. The ham was super tasty and wasn't burnt to a crisp and the cheese was definitely stringy but added good flavour without overpowering the ham and pineapple. The pineapple was indeed juicy and the tomato paste was rich in flavour and just added a little extra something to the pizza.

Overall I absolutely loved this pizza and I would fully reccomend going to either of the Italian restaurants in Elliot Stables.

For dessert, we headed to one of my favourite places: Giapo Gelato. I have tried many flavours of gelato from quite a few other gelato places, and by far, Giapo Gelato has the best gelato I have ever had. Giapo has some really obscure flavours, but they all taste amazing and I actually don't mind the avocado gelato. However, I decided to get my usual gelato which was Kiss Kiss (a chocolate and hazelnut gelato) and Tiramisu which is exactly what a tiramisu tastes like but as gelato.

The presentation was absolutely gorgeous (although because of the wind I did get covered in the loose chocolate/coffee powder unfortunately) and the staff in Giapo were lovely and took great care in making my gelato look amazing.

It tasted amazing. The gelato was smooth and full of flavour, the chocolate and hazelnut really came through in the Kiss Kiss gelato and there were crunchy bits of hazelnut which added texture and the tiramisu gelato tasted just like a beautiful tiramisu, complete with little bits of sponge dipped in coffee.

It was an amazing gelato and I highly recommend that you try Giapo Gelato.

I hope you all are having a good new year and I am sorry for taking so long to post this.
